Our Main Activities

Roundtables with security practitioners: Students identify practitioners they would like to bring to MUP for a 45-60 minutes long lecture, followed by an open discussion with MUP students for another 45-60 minutes.

Research assistants: MUP students and alumni who volunteer to provide research assistance to MUP’s faculty in their projects on security-related topics.

Students' conference:  A team of MUP students selects a general conference theme and specify more specific themes for its panels. Students are then also responsible for advertising the conference at other universities, while MUP faculty members are in charge of selecting the papers that will be actually be presented. There is also a possibility for the production of electronic conference proceedings, with all, or selected, papers presented at the conference.

Experts and pracitioners' conference: Annual conference of experts and practitioners on current hot topics in international security. Speakers by invitation and/or open call for papers only. Students help with the organizational aspects and conference advertizing. There is also a possibility for the production of printed conference proceedings, with all, or selected, papers presented at the conference.

Movie nights: Screening of interesting movies and documentaries, followed by a presentation on the background/details/significance of security topic presented in the movie.

Quest lectures: Occasional lectures by leading academics and researchers in the various fields of international security.

Blog: The goal of our blog is to provoke a debate about security challenges, especialy in the military area, which citizents of Czech Republic and other EU Member States currently face.

Security Dialog 10/20: 10 Years in NATO, 20 Year of Transformation of the Czech Armed Forces. This dialog is a Czech-only activity. Please click here for more information in Czech.
